L'mwbgavidina è una mwbwglicoproteina mwcatetramerica che lega specificamente la mwcqbiotina e contenuta nell'mwcgalbume delle mwcwuova di mwdauccelli, mwdqrettili ed mwdganfibi; è così chiamata per l'"mwdwavidità" verso la biotina.

Si ritiene che possa proteggere l'albume dalle invasioni mweqbatteriche.

È considerata un fattore anti-nutrizionale poiché agisce mwewchelando la biotina presente negli alimenti costituiti da mwfaproteine di deposito, come mwfquova e mwfgsemi; per rompere questo legame bisogna mwfwdenaturare la glicoproteina con un'azione termica ad almeno 70 °C.
